Strip edges
Strip comes with a slit edge unless you ask for another. For a deburred or rounded edge, give the burr limit or the edge profile in your enquiry and we confirm it for your size.

Frequently asked questions
Which thicknesses and widths can you supply?
Narrow strip from 0.05 mm foil to about 3 mm, and slit coils up to 8 mm thick. Widths start at a few millimetres; how narrow depends on the thickness. Send us the size and we confirm it in our quotation.
Which tempers are there for 1.4310 spring strip?
The EN 10151 tensile strength classes from C850 (850–1,000 MPa) to C1900 (1,900–2,200 MPa). The highest class depends on the thickness. Strip can also be rolled to your own tensile range or supplied annealed.
What is the difference between normal and precision tolerance?
EN ISO 9445-1 gives two tolerance classes for narrow strip. For 0.30 mm strip below 125 mm wide, the thickness tolerance is ±0.020 mm in the normal class and ±0.010 mm in the precision class. The tolerance finder on this page shows both for your size.
How much strip is in a coil?
Divide the coil weight by the weight per metre: thickness × width × density ÷ 1,000 (sizes in mm, density in kg/dm³). A 100 kg coil of 1.4310 in 0.30 × 20 mm holds about 2,110 m. The calculator on this page also gives the coil outside diameter.
Can you slit our own coils?
Yes. Send us the coil data (grade, thickness, width, weight and inner diameter) and the strip widths you need. Slitting, packing and transport are quoted as one job.
Which certificates come with the strip?
EN 10204 3.1 certificates with the chemical analysis and the mechanical properties of the agreed temper. Inspection certificates 3.2 on request, agreed before we quote. The certificate type and the origin are stated for each lot in our quotation.
Do you supply banding and buckles?
