  • Temper or hardness
  • Edge and surface
  • Certificate type and origin
  • Price, delivery date and Incoterm

Inspection documents

What comes with the strip

  1. EN 10204 3.1 certificate with the chemical analysis and the mechanical properties of the agreed temper
  2. EN 10204 3.2 inspection on request, agreed before we quote
  3. Each lot is identified by its heat number, which appears on the certificate supplied with it.

Standards for precision strip

The standards we quote to. The standard and the tolerance class for each order are stated in our quotation.

StandardWhat it covers
EN 10088-2Stainless steel grades and chemical composition for strip and sheet
EN 10151Stainless steel strip for springs, tensile strength classes C850 to C1900
EN ISO 9445-1Thickness and width tolerances for cold-rolled strip below 600 mm wide
EN ISO 9445-2Tolerances for wider cold-rolled strip
EN 10095Heat-resistant grades
EN 10204Inspection documents, type 3.1, or 3.2 on request
ASTM A240Grade equivalents such as 301, 304, 316L and 430

Edges, surface and packing

Edges: slit, deburred or rounded. Interleaving paper or protective film on request. The edge, surface and packing for each order are stated in our quotation.

Tolerance tables and tensile classes: strip calculator and tolerance finder.

From enquiry to delivery

Strip, slit coils and banding can go on one quotation, with the certificates your parts need.

  1. Send your specification

Grade and temper or tensile strength, thickness and width with the tolerance class, the edge, the coil build (inner diameter, outside diameter or coil weight), the quantity and the delivery place.

  2. Receive our quotation

Price, availability and delivery date, with the certificate type and the origin stated for each lot. EN 10204 3.1 certificates; 3.2 inspection on request, agreed before we quote.

  3. Order and delivery

We confirm your order in writing. Single coils or regular call-offs; minimum quantities depend on grade and size and are stated in the quotation.

Frequently asked questions

Which certificates come with the strip?

EN 10204 3.1 certificates with the chemical analysis and the mechanical properties of the agreed temper. Inspection certificates 3.2 on request, agreed before we quote. The certificate type and the origin are stated for each lot in our quotation.

What is the difference between normal and precision tolerance?

EN ISO 9445-1 gives two tolerance classes for narrow strip. For 0.30 mm strip below 125 mm wide, the thickness tolerance is ±0.020 mm in the normal class and ±0.010 mm in the precision class. State the class you need in your enquiry.

Which tempers are there for 1.4310 spring strip?

The EN 10151 tensile strength classes from C850 (850–1,000 MPa) to C1900 (1,900–2,200 MPa). The highest class depends on the thickness. Strip can also be rolled to your own tensile range or supplied annealed.
